Blocked drains

Drain unblocking in London, cleared properly

Need drain unblocking in London? A sink that drains slowly, a toilet that won’t clear, or an outside drain backing up. We clear it with rods and jetting gear. If the cause isn’t obvious, we send a camera down to find it, so nobody is left guessing.

Quick checks

Try these before you ring

You might fix it yourself. If so, great. If not, we’re a call away.

Skip the caustic drain cleaner

It seldom shifts a proper blockage, it can harm older pipes, and our engineer then has to work in a trap full of caustic liquid. If you’ve already used some, just let us know when you ring so we can come prepared.

Toilet blocked? Stop flushing

Every flush pours more water into a pan that can’t empty, and that’s how a blockage turns into a flood. If the water is slowly going down by itself, the blockage is only partial, and it can usually wait for a normal appointment.

Several things draining slowly at once

When your sink, bath and toilet are all sluggish together, the blockage isn’t under any one of them. It’s in the shared soil stack or the drain outside. That’s handy to know before anyone takes a trap apart.

Keeps blocking again?

There’s always a reason a drain blocks again and again: roots getting in, fat building up, a section that has collapsed, or a pipe laid badly. Paying to clear it over and over costs more across a year than one survey and a proper fix.

Your questions

What people ask us

Is the drain my responsibility or the water company’s?

As a rule, the pipes inside your property boundary are yours, and the shared sewer past that belongs to Thames Water. We’ll tell you which side the problem sits on. If it’s theirs, we’ll say so instead of charging you to fix it.

Can you carry out CCTV drain surveys?

Yes. We do them for blockages that keep returning, for checks before you buy a property, and when an insurer needs proof of what’s really wrong.

Can you sort a blocked toilet today?

Most of the time. Ring the booking line, tell us what’s going on, and we’ll give you an honest idea of when we can be with you.

Do you handle drains in blocks of flats?

Yes. We look after shared stacks and communal drains for managing agents and freeholders. For that kind of work, please use the management line.
