Broken drains

Drain repairs in London, dig or no-dig

Drain repairs in London are for pipes that are physically broken, not just blocked. Unblocking clears out a drain that still works. A repair fixes one that has collapsed, cracked, split from roots or slipped badly out of line, and we always confirm that with a camera survey first. Depending on the damage and the run, we either dig down to it or fit a no-dig lining through the pipe you already have.

Quick checks

Try these before you ring

You might fix it yourself. If so, great. If not, we’re a call away.

We survey first, every time

We won’t quote for digging until a camera survey has shown exactly where the damage is and how bad it is. Opening up the wrong section, or more than you need, is a costly mistake, and one we make sure to avoid.

Relining can’t fix everything

A resin liner works for a crack or a split where the pipe still holds roughly its shape. If a section has truly collapsed or is badly out of line, a liner simply can’t go in, and digging is the only option.

Shared drains may not be all yours to fix

If your drain is shared with next door, the water company is often responsible for the shared part under the Water Industry Act. We’ll show you where that line falls before you pay for a repair that was never yours to fund.

Putting things back is included

If we have to dig through your patio or driveway, making it good again is part of the quote we agree at the start. It isn’t something we haggle over once the hole is open.

Your questions

What people ask us

How do I know if my drain needs repairing or just unblocking?

A CCTV survey makes it clear. Debris sitting in a sound pipe is a blockage. A pipe wall that’s cracked, collapsed or split by roots needs repairing. We won’t suggest a repair without seeing that evidence.

Will my garden or driveway need digging up?

Only when the damage can’t be relined. If it can, nothing above ground gets disturbed.

Does the water company look after shared drains?

Often, for the shared part past your boundary. We’ll work out where that line is and can pass a genuinely shared fault to the water company, rather than quoting you for their repair.

How long will the repair take?

A no-dig reline usually takes a day. Digging depends on how deep it is and how easy it is to reach. Once the survey has shown how far the damage goes, we’ll give you a realistic timescale.
